Plans for next week:

  • Continue Testing Raspberry Pi PWM signal controls for motor, brakes and servo.

  • Finalize developed standard code that allows each individual module to control the smart car.

  • Work on integrating PWM controls into individual Modules.

  • Finalize CAN bus PCB design

Group Meeting memo:

  • Discussed deliverables for midterm presentation.

  • Discussed the generation PWM signals for motor control using a Raspberry Pi, focusing on generation delays.

  • Continued discussion on PCB design

Project Progress

Quinn:

  • Continued working on testing Raspberry Pi PWM signal controls.

  • Developed standard code that allows each individual module to control the smart car.

  • Researched the functionality and data transfer of CANBUS system.

DJ:

  • Tested the Arduino Nano's compatibility with the TFmini LiDAR sensor.

  • Helped with testing the PWM signal control generation from the Raspberry Pi.

  • Researched the previous year's CAN bus system to understand its functionality.

Jordyn:

  • Redesigned CAN bus PCB using Eagle software

  • Researched the data transfer of CAN bus system

Jacob:

  • Worked on the code that will control the car. Will need to work on a user interface and signal processing from the other modules so the main controller can take in data and use it to control the car. We have started this by developing methods that will control the pwm signals.
