Plans for next week:

• Submit Proposal and Presentation to Department

Group Meeting memo:

• Discussed the requirements for each system for the SMART car. Decided to get rid of object detection and avoidance and focus on the CAN Bus as the 4th part of the project.

• Discussed the midterm presentation

Project Progress:

Jordyn

• Decided to switch from object detection and avoidance and focus designing the CAN Bus

• Read last years report on CAN Bus and decided which parts to keep and which parts to change

• Plan on improving CAN Bus by using PCB and building a User Interface to control the systems of the car. Will follow ISO 11898 standard as a guide to meet standard requirements of an industry CAN Bus

Quinn

• Completed Homework #4.

• Prepared group assigned presentation slides for midterm presentation.

• Finished decision matrices and purchase plans for GPS module and sensors, awaiting final approval.

• Continued to test school lent RC car and GPS module.

Jacob

• Completed HW #4

• Completed presentation slides

The past week was spent preparing for the midterm capstone project presentations to the department. This presentation is used to present the project features and engineering requirements to the department. The concept table, fan, and Pugh concept tables for the Adaptive Cruise Control were finalized.

The plan for this week is to give the midterm presentation.
